I started my career in travel by accident, with a 3-week contract to drive the delivery van for Travicom, way back in 1989. Since then, I have spent 30 years working in the travel industry that has included all three GDS, an Airline, a Major Hotel chain, a Top 10 TMC and a Payments provider.
During that time I have sold and implemented solutions and led teams supporting Travel Management Companies, Leisure Travel Agencies and Corporate clients, with travel programmes and spend ranging from £100,000 to over £500m globally.
With over 20 years combined experience at Travelport, Amadeus and Sabre, I understand the complexity that goes into selecting, contracting and successfully implementing new travel technology - where the gaps and pitfalls are and how to avoid them to get the best from your technology partners.
I have worked with 100s of corporate clients of all sizes, both directly and with TMC partners, to design and implement online travel programmes. I know that the challenge of delivering online adoption and the commercial results that come with it means way more than just choosing the right Corporate Booking Tool. Success come from the strategy, operations, sales proposition and most importantly, people, that you build around it.
For the last 10 years, I have been building and leading successful sales and commercial teams across the industry and helping them to change the way we speak to prospects and customers, to talk in a language that makes sense to them, not just ourselves.
Most of all, I am fiercely passionate about the travel industry and the technology that goes with it... how we got to where we are today and how to embrace the changes yet to come.
